Hearing Test

Our comprehensive hearing tests assess your auditory health, identifying any degree of hearing loss or other hearing-related issues. Regular hearing tests are crucial for early detection and management of hearing problems.

Procedure

The hearing test process includes several key steps:
1
Initial Consultation
Discuss your hearing concerns and medical history with our audiologist
2
Pure-Tone Audiometry
Wear headphones and respond to a series of tones at different frequencies and volumes to determine the quietest sounds you can hear.
3
Speech Audiometry
Evaluate your ability to hear and understand speech in various conditions, including quiet and noisy environments
4
Tympanometry
Measure the movement of your eardrum in response to changes in air pressure to assess middle ear function
5
Results Review
Our audiologist will explain the results and discuss potential next steps, including treatment options if needed

What to Expect

The hearing test is painless and non-invasive, typically lasting about 60 minutes. You'll gain valuable insights into your hearing health, and our audiologist will provide personalised recommendations based on your results.

Hearing Aids

Types of Hearing Aids and Their Features
Behind the ear

Behind the Ear (BTE)

BTE hearing aids are worn behind the ear and have a tube that transmits sound into a custom earpiece. They are suitable for most types of hearing loss and are often more powerful due to their larger size. Special features for BTE models include rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth connectivity, and digital processing.
rechargeable ITC

Rechargeable ITC

The Rechargeable In-the-Canal (ITC) hearing aid offers a compact and convenient solution for those with mild to moderate hearing loss. Fitting partially in the ear canal, it is hidden from view while still being powerful enough to deliver clear sound. With built-in rechargeable batteries, this ITC model can be simply recharged overnight for a full day of use.

In the canal

In the Canal (ITC)

ITC hearing aids are smaller than ITEs and fit partially in the ear canal, making them less visible. They are suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss but can be difficult to handle. ITC models often contain digital processing, with some limited options for Bluetooth connectivity.
Completely in the ear - Logos Speech and Hearing Center

Completely in the Canal (CIC)

CIC hearing aids are the smallest type, fitting entirely within the ear canal and making them nearly invisible. They are suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss. CIC models are known for their discreteness and typically feature digital processing.
Receiver in canal

Receiver in Canal (RIC)

RIC hearing aids place the speaker (receiver) in the ear canal while the rest of the device rests behind the ear, offering a more discreet option with high sound quality. They are suitable for various types of hearing loss. RIC models often include rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth connectivity, and digital processing.
Rechargeable RIC

Rechargeable RIC

The Rechargeable Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) hearing aid combines advanced technology with convenience. It features a hidden design where the speaker sits directly in the ear canal while the main device rests comfortably behind the ear. With built-in rechargeable batteries, this model offers a stress-free experience. The Rechargeable RIC provides high sound quality, long-lasting performance, and the ease of simply recharging overnight for all-day use.

Special Features

Rechargable Hearing Aid

Rechargeable Hearing Aid

Rechargeable hearing aids do away with the need for replaceable batteries, providing convenience and environmental benefits. This feature is commonly available in BTE, RIC, and some ITE models.

Hearing Aid with Bluetooth Connectivity

Hearing Aid with Bluetooth Connectivity

Bluetooth connectivity allows hearing aids to connect to smartphones, tablets, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices for direct audio streaming and hands-free calls. This feature is mostly found in BTE, RIC, and some larger ITE models.

Invisible Hearing Aid

Invisible Hearing Aid

Invisible hearing aids are designed to be highly discreet, fitting deep within the ear canal. This feature typically is found in CIC and some ITC models.

Digital Hearing Aid

Invisible Hearing Aid

Digital hearing aids utilise digital signal processing for precise sound amplification and advanced features such as noise reduction, directional microphones, and feedback cancellation. Digital processing is a basic feature in modern hearing aids and is available across all types, including BTE, ITE, ITC, CIC, and RIC models.

Aftercare for Hearing Aids & Speech Therapy

We believe aftercare is an important part of the whole treatment procedure. Our aftercare services will offer you continuous support and guarantee that you get the best speech therapy or hearing aid use.

Follow-Up Appointments

After the first session of therapy or the hearing aid fitting, we make sure to schedule regular follow-up appointments for you to monitor your progress and make any adjustments if necessary. These appointments help make certain that your hearing aids are functioning up to the mark, or as to whether the speech therapy is showing the expected results. Our in-house specialist will then make sure to alter the treatment plan to suit your evolving needs whenever the need arises.

Hearing Aid Maintenance

You must always make sure to properly maintain your hearing aids to guarantee their performance and longevity is not affected. Logos offers you detailed instructions on how to clean, store, and care for your hearing aids. We also perform regular maintenance tasks such as changing the tips of your hearing aids and cleaning the wax from the hearing aids for free to our customers who have brought the hearing aids from our store. We also provide battery replacement, software updates, and repairs to keep your hearing aids at their best condition. With our aftercare services, you don’t have to worry about common issues plaguing hearing aids such as earwax buildup or moisture damage, thereby guaranteeing clear sound and a longer lifetime for your hearing aids.

Speech Therapy Practice and Guidance

Consistent practice is essential to achieve and maintain improvements during speech therapy. Our therapist will provide a custom set of exercises and activities to perform at home, so as to help reinforce the progress you have made during the inhouse therapy session. These exercises and activities are made to easily fit in with your daily routine, be it about improving articulation, fluency, or voice control.
